THE CITY OF WINSTON-SALEM IS OFFERING COMMUNITY MEETINGS WHERE YOU CAN LEARN ABOUT HOW TO GET FORGIVABLE LOANS FOR HOME IMPROVEMENT. ONLY CERTAIN HOMEOWNERS QUALIFY FOR LOANS THROUGH THE CHURN PROGRAM, WHICH STANDS FOR TRANSFORMING URBAN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS. NOW, IT OFFERS THESE FORGIVABLE LOANS, WHICH OF COURSE MEANS YOU DON’T DON’T HAVE TO PAY THEM BACK TO USE FOR HOME REPAIRS FOR LOW TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE CITY, LOANS GO UP TO $65,000. HOMEOWNERS CAN ALSO RECEIVE LOANS FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS THAT THREATEN YOUR HEALTH OR SAFETY, OR MAKE THE HOME MORE ACCESSIBLE.
